Demo Team
What is Demo Team?
A Taekwondo Demo Team is a group of taekwondo practitioners who are particularly advanced at taekwondo and organize to perform taekwondo demonstrations, dances, aerial acrobatics, and board breaks at special events.
Larger taekwondo schools will have a demo team (this is one of the benefits of studying at a larger school). Demo Teams perform at taekwondo tournaments, Open Houses, local festivals, special occasions at local shopping malls, and even demo team competitions.
Our Demo Team
We are the United States Black Belt Academy (USBBA) Demo Team!!! Our Demo Team members attend special classes where they learn a vast amount of additional martial art techniques, very advanced techniques, board breaking, self-defense, routines, and weapons forms for public demonstration. Members of the school Demo Team will wear unique and special uniforms that represent the schools Demo Team.
The Demo Team provides students with a fun social activity that allows them to grow both as individuals and as a team to practice advanced techniques. Demo team is also a great addition for skilled students wanting to learn more abilities not taught in the normal group classes.
Demo Team training consists of mainly Taekwondo, Hapkido, and weapons. We demonstrate all forms of attack and defense, using a well-controlled body and mind. In addition to demonstrating kicks, board breaks, and Poomsae (forms), Demo Teams also often perform Taekwonmu, a combination of taekwondo with dance and acrobatic tricking.
Who Can Join?
Any student of Master Chan Sung’s Black Belt Academy, whose spirit is strong enough to endure unique and intensive training with techniques learned as a Team, will be welcomed to join! It is recommended that you are at least a yellow belt with the skill, spirit, effort, and determination to try more advanced techniques.
