Our School

Our School (also known as a Dojang) is the largest school in all of Southern Maryland and one of the largest in all Maryland. We are state licensed, certified, and undergo routine inspections for both our facilities and educational programs. For students and members, this is our home and a place to have fun and work on all aspects of our martial arts.

Front Reception Area

When you first walk into the school you will be greeted by the reception area. All admin functions take place at the front desk. There are chairs for kids and parents that are waiting. Students taking class can put their shoes and basic bags in the Cubby slots. The hallway immediately leads to classrooms 01 and 02, bathrooms, water fountains, game room, snack room, and break room. 

School Classroom 01

This is the primary classroom where all classes are taught. It has the capacity to hold over 30 students divided into groups based on age and belt rank. Parents and student gear can relax over at the bleachers while class is in session. 

School Classroom 02

This is the secondary classroom primarily used for the Before and After School Daycare Programs, but can also be used for class overflow, demo team, and individual practice. There is a set of bleachers for parents, spectators, and student backpacks. The Before and After School kids have larger assigned cubbies for their gear bags and other equipment. There are multiple tables and chairs to assist daycare students requirements to work on homework and reading assignments. There are 3 computer workstations for daycare students to complete homework and play educational games ONLY. There is also a library of kids books to entertain daycare students.     

Facility Amenities

Our school has many additional amenities for students at the Black Belt Academy. Outside there is a large area for parking. The school itself has front handicap parking and is wheelchair accessible via a ramp to the entrance. There is an optional changing area in a private back room in-between the classrooms. There are 2 bathrooms with multiple stalls and sinks. There are 2 water fountains. There is both a snack room, fridge, and space for eating. There is an additional game room next to the front office. There is a fenced play area accessible from a causeway in-between both classrooms. Ice, and Ice-packs, and first aid kits are available in the event of an injury. All major areas of the school have multiple exits and entrances for safety. Lastly, the school is monitored by a security to feed to ensure the safety of member’s belongings and students.
